In the cutting-edge technique of direct compression heat pump distillation, the vapor phase at the tower's summit becomes the working fluid. By harnessing an external steam compressor, its energy level is elevated, transforming it into a high-temperature heat source for the reboiler at the tower's base. This method is particularly effective for systems where the tower top and bottom have small temperature differences and similar boiling points, as depicted in the accompanying figure.

Installation Instructions

3.3.1 For optimal performance, meticulously place the compressor base onto its designated foundation. Utilize wedge-shaped shims strategically under the base to fine-tune the unit's level, ensuring stability and precision.
Carefully alternate two wedge-shaped irons and, once the unit is perfectly level, secure them with spot welds at 4 to 5 points. This ensures unwavering stability.
The user should craft and install these wedges according to specific circumstances, ensuring a flawless finish on the contact surface for seamless alignment.
The wedges must securely support up to 40Kg/cm² without exceeding this capacity.

3.3.2 Achieve impeccable alignment using a level. The axial level precision should be at an unparalleled 0.05/1000mm, while the horizontal level should attain 0.10/1000mm for flawless operation.
Such meticulous leveling ensures optimal performance and longevity of the unit.

3.3.3 Ensure the coupling is perfectly centered. Prior to commencing alignment, adhere to these crucial prerequisites:
1) Ensure complete safety by switching off the main power supply;
2) Remove the coupling shield for unobstructed access;
3) Detach the diaphragm coupling intermediate section;
4) Thoroughly inspect the motor installation plane for any debris or contaminants, ensuring a pristine surface;
5) Motor bolt holes should exceed bolt sizes to allow for precise adjustments by loosening bolts;
6) Secure ample stainless steel gaskets, ensuring they are devoid of attachments and perfectly flat. Avoid using elongated or thin gaskets for adjustments;
7) Utilize a dial indicator or a laser alignment meter with an exceptional accuracy rate of 0.01mm, which should be supplied by the customer;
8) Prepare an appropriate bracket to support the dial indicator, as illustrated below;

9) Employ the motor wheel hub mounting bracket to affix a dial indicator, placing its probe precisely on the outer edge of the compressor wheel hub;
10) Align the compressor and motor center lines using adjustment bolts, ensuring a deviation of no more than 0.05mm. The motor shaft center line should be slightly elevated compared to the compressor's low-speed shaft center line for flawless alignment;

11) Securely fasten the motor foot bolts and verify both the outer circle runout and the coupling end face runout for precision.;
12) After confirming the motor's idle test, reinstall the coupling intermediate section for completeness.
3.3.4 Once the casing's 'levelness' and alignment are perfected, tighten the anchor bolts. Following mechanical operation or trial runs, loosen and retighten bolts for heightened security and stability.
3.3.5 As the impeller is a high-speed rotating marvel, it is crucial to ensure no solids or liquids infiltrate it, as this would inflict irreversible harm on the compressor. Maintain pristine cleanliness in inlet and outlet pipelines connected to the compressor, satisfying the system's stringent steam corrosion grade requirements.
Consider installing solid-liquid separation devices such as gas scrubbers or sedimentation tees at the compressor inlet to preemptively avert potential damages.
3.3.6 Seamlessly install compressor inlet and outlet pipes. Adhere to the PI diagram for fitting relevant pipeline accessories. Support pipelines with separate brackets; the compressor body should never bear this weight, ensuring its integrity and efficiency.
3.3.7 Once the installation of the main fan and its auxiliary equipment is accomplished and the concrete base has achieved full solidification, you are ready to embark on the compressor operation test. This critical stage ensures optimal performance and reliability.
3.3.8 The compressor's electric control cabinet should be strategically positioned within a 5-meter radius of the compressor itself. To ensure safety and efficiency, the wiring from the compressor to its control cabinet must be encased in a protective threading pipe, seamlessly routed underground. Once the electric control cabinet is securely installed, connect its wiring terminals to the lines at the remote Distributed Control System (DCS) for seamless operation and control.
