Heat pump distillation is an innovative process that elevates the steam's energy at the top of the tower through pressurization and heating, thanks to external power. This transformed steam becomes a high-grade reboiler heat source at the tower's base, skillfully recovering the latent heat from the steam at the top.
In direct compression heat pump distillation, the tower top vapor phase serves as the working fluid. Its energy level is significantly enhanced with the aid of an external steam compressor, transforming it into a robust high-temperature heat source for the tower bottom reboiler. As depicted in the accompanying figure, this method is ideally suited for separation systems where there is a small temperature variation and closely related boiling points between the tower's top and bottom.
The centrifugal compressor, pivotal for heat pump distillation, encompasses a sophisticated assembly including a compressor body, coupling, gearbox, lubrication system, motor, electric instruments, and an anti-surge control system. Its design is remarkably compact, ensuring ease of maintenance and operational efficiency.

3.3.1 Begin your installation by firmly positioning the comprehensive compressor base onto the designated foundation. Subtly place wedge-shaped shims beneath the base to achieve a perfect unit level.
Artfully alternate the positioning of two wedge-shaped irons. Once the unit is impeccably level, skillfully spot weld the irons at 4 to 5 strategic points. These wedges should be meticulously
crafted and positioned by the user, tailored specifically to the actual unique situation encountered. Ensure that the contact surfaces are impeccably finished for an even engagement of the inclined
plane. Additionally, ensure the load-bearing capacity of the wedge irons does not exceed 40Kg/cm2).
3.3.2 Employ a level to ensure impeccable precision. The unit's leveling requirements are exacting, with an axial level of 0.05/1000mm, and a horizontal level of 0.10/1000mm.
These precise measurements ensure optimal operation of the unit.
3.3.3 Attaining the perfect alignment of the coupling is paramount. Prior to embarking on alignment, ensure the following prerequisites are thoroughly met:
1) Disengage the main power supply to ensure safety;
2) Carefully remove the coupling shield to access necessary components;
3) Detach the diaphragm coupling intermediate section to prepare for alignment;
4) Scrutinize the motor installation plane for impeccable flatness, ensuring it's free of obstructions, dirt, and debris;
5) Ensure the motor bolt hole is adequately larger than the bolt size, facilitating easy loosening for motor adjustments;
6) Ready an ample supply of stainless steel gaskets to fully cover the motor feet. These gaskets must be pristine, flat, and devoid of impurities. Avoid using elongated and slender gaskets for adjustment purposes;
7) Utilize a precision dial indicator or a laser alignment meter, boasting an accuracy of 0.01mm, which the customer should procure independently;
8) Prepare a supportive bracket for the dial indicator, as illustrated in the accompanying figure;
9) Employ the motor wheel hub mounting bracket to station a dial indicator precisely on the hub's edge. Position the dial indicator probe deftly on the outer periphery of the compressor wheel hub;
10) By meticulously adjusting the motor feet's adjustment bolts, align the compressor and motor center lines as closely as possible (or according to specific instructions). The maximum deviation of the outer circle should not surpass 0.05mm, with the motor shaft center line slightly elevated above the compressor's low-speed shaft center line, and coupling end face deviation maintained at 0.03~0.05mm;
11) Finally, with precision, tighten the motor foot bolts and meticulously review both the outer circle runout and end face runout of the coupling;
12) Conclude this phase by reinstalling the coupling intermediate section post a comprehensive motor idling test.
3.3.4 Following meticulous adjustments to the casing's levelness and alignment, fasten the anchor bolts securely. Post mechanical or trial operation, relax and re-tighten these essential bolts.
3.3.5 The impeller, a high-speed component, requires impeccable care. Prevent any solids or liquids from entering, as they could inflict irreversible compressor damage. Therefore, it's crucial to ensure the cleanliness of the inlet and outlet pipelines, aligning them with system steam corrosion grade standards. Pipelines failing to meet these criteria must be promptly rectified.It's advisable to incorporate solid-liquid separation equipment, like a gas scrubber or sedimentation tee, before the compressor's inlet straight pipe.
3.3.6 Proceed to install the compressor's inlet and outlet pipes. All import and export pipelines should feature the requisite accessories as per the provided PI diagram. Ensure that pipelines connecting to the compressor are supported independently by another bracket to avoid exerting unnecessary weight on the compressor body.
3.3.7 Once the main fan and its auxiliary equipment have been expertly installed and the concrete foundation has fully solidified, you can proceed with confidence to perform the operational testing of the compressor. 3.3.8 For optimal efficiency and seamless integration, the electric control cabinet of the compressor must be strategically positioned within 5 meters of the compressor itself. Ensure the wiring is meticulously connected via threading pipes that are securely placed underground. Once the electric control cabinet is set up, expertly link the wiring terminals inside it with the lines at the remote DCS, ensuring a flawless and efficient operation.
