3.3.1 Begin by positioning the compressor base seamlessly onto the prepared foundation. Carefully place wedge-shaped shims beneath the base to achieve precise leveling of the unit.
Strategically arrange two wedge-shaped irons in an alternating pattern. Once the unit is perfectly leveled, apply spot welding on the shims at 4 to 5 pivotal points for optimal stability.
Craft these wedges to fit the specific situation, ensuring the inclined planes make even contact for maximum efficiency.
The bearing capacity of each wedge should be strictly maintained under 40Kg/cm2).
3.3.2 Employ a precise level to ascertain the unit's alignment. Target an axial level of 0.05/1000mm and a horizontal level of 0.10/1000mm for optimal performance.
Ensure these meticulous leveling standards are met to prevent any operational discrepancies.
3.3.3 Achieve precision by centering the coupling. Prior to commencing the alignment, adhere to these essential prerequisites:
1) Power down the main supply entirely;
2) Dismantle the coupling shield for unobstructed access;
3) Detach the diaphragm coupling intermediate section with care;
4) Inspect and ensure the motor installation plane is immaculate, free from any obstructions or debris;
5) The motor bolt holes should be slightly larger than the bolts for easy adjustments;
6) Have an ample supply of pristine stainless steel gaskets ready. They should be devoid of any residue and perfectly flat, avoiding any long or thin gaskets for adjustments;
7) Utilize either a dial indicator or a laser alignment tool with a precision of 0.01mm, which should be procured by the customer;
8) Prepare a sturdy bracket to support the dial indicator as depicted in the accompanying diagram;
9) Use a motor wheel hub mounting bracket to correctly position a dial indicator probe along the compressor wheel hub's outer edge;
10) Adjust the bolts around the motor feet to align the compressor and motor center lines. Ensure the maximum allowable deviation is 0.05mm, with the motor shaft center line slightly elevated compared to the compressor's low-speed shaft. End face deviation should be 0.03~0.05mm.
11) Securely fasten the motor foot bolts. Then, re-evaluate the coupling's outer circle and end face runout for accuracy.;
12) Re-install the coupling intermediate section after conducting a successful motor idling test.
3.3.4 Once the 'levelness' and alignment are precisely adjusted, firmly secure the anchor bolts. After a mechanical or trial operation, loosen and re-tighten the bolts to ensure steadfastness.
3.3.5 Given the impeller's high-speed rotations, any foreign solid or liquid can cause irreversible harm to the compressor. Thus, ensure inlet and outlet pipelines are free from impurities and compliant with the steam corrosion standards. If discrepancies exist, implement necessary modifications. Incorporate solid-liquid separation devices like gas scrubbers or sedimentation tees before the compressor inlet's straight pipe.
3.3.6 Proceed with installing the compressor's inlet and outlet pipes. Ensure import and export pipelines are equipped with requisite accessories per the PI diagram. Support pipelines with independent brackets to avoid undue weight on the compressor body.
3.3.7 Once the main fan and its supplementary equipment have been meticulously installed and the concrete has reached its full strength and solidity, you are ready to embark on the compressor operation test. This crucial phase ensures the seamless functionality and reliability of the equipment, paving the way for flawless performance.
3.3.8 The electric control cabinet for the compressor should be strategically positioned within a 5-meter radius of the compressor itself. To ensure optimal connectivity, the wiring from the compressor to the electric control cabinet must be meticulously threaded through a conduit that is safely routed underground. Once the electric control cabinet is firmly in place, it’s essential to connect the wiring terminals within the cabinet with the lines at the remote DCS, ensuring a cohesive and efficient system.
