Heat pump distillation is an innovative method where steam at the top of the tower is pressurized and heated to an elevated state using external power. This cutting-edge process allows it to serve as a reboiler heat source at the bottom of the tower, efficiently capturing and recycling the latent heat of the steam from the top of the tower, making it an energy-savvy solution.
Direct compression heat pump distillation employs the tower top vapor phase as its working fluid. By utilizing an external steam compressor, it amplifies the energy level of this vapor phase to transform it into a high-temperature heat source for the tower bottom reboiler. As illustrated in the figure below, this technique is particularly advantageous for separation systems with narrow temperature differentials and closely-matched boiling points between the top and bottom of the tower, ensuring optimal performance.
The centrifugal compressor designed for heat pump distillation comprises a robust compressor body, coupling, gearbox, lubrication system, motor, and sophisticated electric instrumentation paired with an anti-surge control system. 3.3.1 Begin by positioning the compressor base seamlessly onto the foundation. Utilize wedge-shaped shims beneath the base for precise unit leveling.
Strategically alternate two wedge-shaped irons to achieve optimal balance. Once the unit is perfectly leveled, apply spot welds at 4-5 points on the wedges.
The user must craft and position the wedge according to specific conditions, ensuring a smooth contact surface for even load distribution.
The bearing strength for the wedge iron must not exceed 40 Kg/cm2).
3.3.2 Employ a level to achieve precision. The unit should maintain an axial level of 0.05/1000mm, with a horizontal level of 0.10/1000mm.
3.3.3 Achieve perfect coupling alignment. Prior to commencing alignment, ensure these prerequisites:
1) Disengage the main power;
2) Detach the coupling shield;
3) Remove the diaphragm coupling's intermediate segment;
4) Inspect the motor's installation surface for any debris or undesired materials;
5) Ensure motor bolt holes exceed the bolt dimensions, allowing for adjustments;
6) Secure an ample supply of stainless steel gaskets to stabilize the motor's base. Avoid using elongated gaskets for adjustments.
7) Utilize a high-precision dial indicator or laser alignment device, ideally 0.01mm accuracy (to be obtained by the customer);
8) Set up the support bracket for the dial indicator as depicted below;
9) Attach the dial indicator on the hub's edge, probing the outer rim of the compressor hub with precision;
10) By manipulating adjustment bolts at the motor base, align the compressor and motor central lines. Maintain a maximum outer circle deviation of 0.05mm (motor shaft should be marginally higher than compressor's low-speed shaft), and coupling end face deviation of 0.03~0.05mm;
11) Securely fasten the motor foot bolts, then reassess both the outer circle and end face runout of the coupling;
12) Post motor idling assessment, reinstall the coupling's intermediate section.
3.3.4 Once casing "levelness" and alignment are optimized, tighten the anchor bolts. Post-trial operations, loosen and retighten for security.
3.3.5 Impeller integrity is paramount; any ingress of solids or liquids can lead to irreversible compressor damage. Ensure all attached pipelines are pristine and meet system steam corrosion standards. Address any non-compliance immediately.Consider integrating solid-liquid separation equipment, like gas scrubbers or sedimentation tees, prior to the compressor's straight pipe inlet.
3.3.6 Securely attach the compressor's inlet and outlet pipes. Install application-specific pipeline accessories per the PI diagram and ensure additional support brackets bear the pipeline weight, not the compressor body.
3.3.7 Once the main fan and its auxiliary equipment have been meticulously installed and the concrete base has achieved full solidity, you're ready to initiate the operation test of the compressor. This critical phase ensures the seamless functionality and durability of the system.
3.3.8 Position the electric control cabinet of the compressor strategically within a 5m radius for optimal efficiency. Secure the connection between the compressor and the control cabinet with threading pipes routed underground. Once the electric control cabinet is perfectly positioned, effortlessly link the wiring terminals inside to the remote DCS lines, ensuring streamlined communication and control.
