The DM series Single-Stage Geared Steam Compressor is a marvel of engineering, encompassing a compressor body, coupling, gearbox, lubrication system, motor, electric instrumentation, and an anti-surge control system. Its design is a testament to innovation, featuring a compact structure that ensures ease of maintenance and reliability in performance.
3.3.1 The compressor base should be carefully and securely positioned on the foundation. Utilize wedge-shaped shims beneath the base to ensure a perfectly level installation.
Position two wedge-shaped irons in an alternating fashion. Achieve unit leveling, then perform spot welding on the irons at 4 to 5 secure points. The wedge should be
custom-crafted and installed by the user based on specific requirements. The contact surface must be refined to guarantee smooth, even contact of the inclined
plane. Note: The load-bearing capacity of wedge iron is capped at a robust 40Kg/cm2.)
3.3.2 Employ a precision level to ascertain the alignment. The unit's leveling standards are stringent: an axial level of 0.05/1000mm and a horizontal
level of 0.10/1000mm, ensuring impeccable installation accuracy.
3.3.3 Center the coupling with meticulous precision. Before commencing alignment, ensure the following preparatory steps:
1) Safely disconnect the main power supply;
2) Carefully remove the coupling shield;
3) Detach the diaphragm coupling's intermediate section;
4) Inspect and verify the motor installation plane for any foreign debris, dirt, or attachments;
5) Ensure that the motor bolt holes exceed the bolt size for easy adjustment and alignment;
6) Ready an ample supply of pristine stainless steel gaskets to stabilize the motor. Avoid using unsuitable long and thin gaskets for adjustments;
7) Utilize a high-precision dial indicator or laser alignment tool (customer-provided) with 0.01mm accuracy;
8) Have the necessary support bracket for the dial indicator ready for use as depicted below;
9) Mount the motor wheel hub bracket to position the dial indicator on the hub's edge, ensuring precise measurement on the compressor wheel hub's outer edge;
10) Adjust the bolts around the motor feet to align the compressor and motor center line precisely. The outer circle deviation should not exceed 0.05mm, with the motor shaft center line elevated compared to the compressor low-speed shaft. The coupling end face must be within 0.03~0.05mm;
11) Securely fasten the motor foot bolts. Re-evaluate the outer circle and end face runout of the coupling to confirm alignment;;
12) Reinstall the coupling intermediate section following a successful motor idling test.
3.3.4 Post alignment and 'levelness' adjustment, anchor bolts must be firmly tightened. After the mechanical operation or trial run, bolts should be loosened and retightened to secure the setup.
3.3.5 The impeller is critically delicate and spins at high speeds. Any intrusion of solids or liquids could cause irreversible damage. Ensure the compressor's inlet and outlet pipelines are immaculately clean and conform to steam corrosion standards. Non-compliant pipelines require rectification. It is highlyrecommended to install solid-liquid separation devices, such as gas scrubbers or sedimentation tees, before the compressor inlet's straight pipe section.
3.3.6 Carefully install compressor inlet and outlet pipes. According to the PI diagram, pipelines should be fitted with relevant accessories. The pipes must be independently supported by a separate bracket and not rely on the compressor body for load-bearing.
3.3.7 Once the main fan along with its ancillary equipment is securely installed and the concrete foundation reaches full solidification, you are ready to embark on the compressor operation test. 3.3.8 For optimal performance and seamless integration, the electric control cabinet of the compressor should be strategically installed within a 5-meter proximity to the compressor. Ensure the wiring from the compressor to the electric control cabinet is meticulously connected using a threading pipe, which needs to be placed underground for safety and efficiency. Once the electric control cabinet is perfectly positioned, proceed to connect the wiring terminals within the cabinet to the lines at the remote DCS, paving the way for a smooth and controlled operation.
